WorkFlow

Complex suite of applications used for implementing workflow informatics systems. Components of this suite:
  • Workflow engine, using standard language XPDL ( XML P rocess D efinition L anguage)
  • Engine for execution and data-collecting from user-defined forms on the web
  • The visual designers for defining the workflows and the forms that constitutes a workflow application
  • The reporting module

Objectives :

  • making the activity of specialized medical personnel more simple and efficient;
  • decreasing costs;
  • consistent informational support in decision-making process;
  • creating the possibility of fast reactions and specific interventions

Advantages :

  • simplifies unitary application of procedures;
  • eliminates inconsistencies of data;
  • automates processes and informational flows;
  • capitalization of medical competences;
  • rapid access to information for all participants to the informational flow;
  • support for decisions and fast interventions.
EPINET.ro is one example of using the InFlow application suite. EPINET.ro represents an informatics solution for any national network of supervising and control of infectious diseases.

The system is flexible through successfully comply with the dynamic of this kind of environment, that can be defined through: the number of diseases monitored through the national epidemiological network, a high degree of unpredictability of information to be processed by the system (for example, a new disease can anytime be included on the monitoring list, a monitoring flow and / or a document that is being used in epidemiological monitoring and it is modified at a certain moment).

EPINET.ro is designed as a system for managng activity flows taking place at different hierarchical and geographical levels. The functioning of the system is shaped through activity flows that are specific for each disease.
